We joined together for networking and connecting with WASSW leaders from OSPI and WASSW to learn about advocacy efforts and the new OSPI School Social Work Program Manager (!)
We will broke into small groups by region: North and South Puget Sound, Southwest, Eastern and a BIPOC affinity group led by Lupe Wolfe.
We shared our new mission and vision and discussed the formation of a new, more welcoming leadership structure which is team based with participation amount and duration determined by each member. We are aiming for more task focused roles guided by member needs, interest and skills. Contact us to learn more or fill out our interest/feedback form!

How One WASSW Member Promoted the WASSW Fall Mini Conference to Their Administrators:
"I would like to attend a mini-conference hosted by the Washington Association of School Social Workers on Friday, November 5th from 1-4pm and am hoping to use this time as professional development. The cost is free and it is in a virtual format. The conference is about organizational change centered in equity and anti-racist practices and will be facilitated by VIEW Consulting. It will help inform my work by connecting with School Social Workers across the state and reflecting on and learning about how we collectively as a profession can engage in an anti-racist process and action plan. We will learn about action mapping, shared leadership models and engage in a needs assessment process to inform the complex mental health needs of our communities as well as learn about how we can support one another in advocating for a more equitable leadership model."
